What triathlon distances are there?
There are five common triathlon distances:
- Super Sprint Distance : The Super Sprint Distance is a short distance suitable for beginners. The length is 0.25-0.5 km swimming, 10-20 km cycling and 2.5-5 km running.
- Sprint distance : The sprint distance is more demanding. The length is 0.5-0.75 km swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running.
- Short distance (Olympic distance) : The short distance is one of the most well-known triathlon distances. The length is 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running.
- Middle distance : The middle distance is a longer distance that places high demands on body and mind. The length is 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running.
- Long distance (Ironman) : The long distance, also known as Ironman, is the longest and most demanding triathlon distance. The length is 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running.
