What is the difference between RYZON gravel clothing and mountain bike clothing?
RYZON gravel clothing differs from classic mountain bike clothing in several key ways:
Area of application & focus
- RYZON gravel clothing is designed for long tours, bikepacking and mixed routes (road, gravel, forest paths).
- The focus is on comfort, efficiency and versatility – ideal for multi-hour journeys in changing conditions.
- Mountain bike clothing, on the other hand, is designed for technical terrain and prioritizes protection from falls, dirt, and obstacles.
Fit & comfort
- RYZON relies on an ergonomic, close-fitting design that offers freedom of movement but still sits efficiently – especially on long journeys.
- MTB clothing is cut wider to offer more protection and to be worn with protectors.
Materials & Function
- RYZON uses high-quality, breathable, temperature-regulating fabrics that are comfortable to wear even in changing weather.
- The products are lightweight, weatherproof and durable without being heavy.
- MTB clothing is thicker and more robust, with a focus on abrasion resistance and protection.
Design & Equipment
- RYZON attaches great importance to a reduced, functional and aesthetically clear design.
- The gravel clothing offers practical features such as integrated pockets on jerseys and cargo bib shorts – ideal for longer tours.
- MTB clothing can be designed in a more sporty or urban style , often with more striking colors and patterns.
Protection aspect
- RYZON products focus on comfort and performance , not on maximum protection in the event of falls.
- MTB clothing often includes reinforced zones on the elbows, shoulders or knees to minimize injuries during downhill or trail rides.
Summary:
RYZON gravel clothing is ideal for those who want to be comfortable, efficient, and stylish on long rides – with a focus on performance over protection. Mountain bike clothing is more robust, looser cut, and geared more towards shorter rides on more technical terrain.
Gravel and bikepacking
Gravel & bikepacking – two paths, the same freedom.
Gravel biking means being on the move – on gravel, forest trails, and small roads. Beyond the hustle and bustle. It's about ease and exploration.
It's not the speed that counts, but the feeling of making progress.
Bikepacking goes one step further. You take what you need and leave behind what holds you back. It's minimalist travel on two wheels. With a tent, sleeping bag, lights, and a broad perspective.
Both disciplines combine freedom, reduction, and a sense of adventure. Gravel routes become multi-day experiences, and bikepacking trails become stories that last.
All of this requires clothing that thinks for you. That's lightweight, durable, and gives you freedom of movement at every moment.
No matter where you go.

Gravel event from RYZON: OFF GRID
Let's disconnect to reconnect.
Off-Grid is more than an event. It's an invitation to break away – from routines, from the digital world, from speed. Four days. No cell phone. No navigation. Just you, your bike, and the decision to follow your gut feeling.
In teams of two, you'll set off on a route that's only revealed at the start. Together with your teammate, you'll follow the paths, the detours—and yourself. Along dirt roads, through forests, over gravel, through moments that weren't planned. But they remain.
No competition. No goal. Just the experience.
